Hilberts called and said my tiller that is under warranty is complete and there is no charge. I went today to pickup and the counter person handed me a bill for 23.80. I said the service manager I spoke to on the phone said there was no charge. He said since I didnt registered the tiller they did it on my behalf and cost is 23.80 for doing so. The tiller is a month old which I purchased elsewhere. Talked to cub representative which took all my information prior to me taking the tiller and whom told me to take to hilberts. I assumed when cub took all my info my tiller was registered. Not so, instead of a courtesy from hilbert they wacked me. What a way to drum up new business Hilbert! Now u see y people box store shop.

Somehow, Hilbert's has been in business for a long time. I had a bad experience the last time I was there (about 25 years ago). Thought maybe they'd changed - but if they have, it is only for the worse.

I am a local and live 2 minutes from Hilbert's. But I packed up my lawn mower and left, never to return. Do youself a favor and go to Plymouth and use Pro-Fix for lawn equipment repairs. When I pulled up, the man asked if he could help me get the mower out of the car. 3 minutes later, I was done and out the door. Hilbert;s is completely clueless on custormer service, as stated on this blog before. Skip them..

My experience at Hilbert's is very much in line with the others. When you arrive, you are met with a friendly, smiling face - but you learn soon after that this is only a cover for the terrible-service-with-an-attitude-to-follow, should you make the mistake of going forward with them.

I just had to walk out of there. They acted like they didnt even see me.

My Stihl chainsaw was still under warranty when I brought it back for service. They did absolutely nothing to service it, but would not release the saw back to me until I first paid them $38.50 on my fourth visit. I then took the saw to Valley Power Equipment, who promptly identified and resolved the problem, and who provided excellent service.

When he finished with the person he was working with, he proceeded on to help other people that entered the store long after me.

In sum, Hilbert's over charges on it machines and service. Additionally they are rude and don't care to much about the customer experience.

I recently sent my Cub Cadet tractor to Hilbert's for service. After giving me the "spring special" for $199.00 and charging me $95.00 to pick it up less than10 miles away, I received my tractor back with damage to the deck and dirtier than when I sent it. The deck came back with new scrapes and paint chipped off from steaming the machine.

Great folks that know their stuff. Good equipment and support to match.

To correct this I wanted them to either fix it properly or take money off the service charge. That is when I received a call from the owner Larry Hilbert. He explained to me that he was willing to take $20.00 of the total charge. THEY DAMAGED MY MACHINE and he was willing to take $20.00 off. Not only did he insult me with that offer but he was extremely rude on the phone. I could tell from our phone conversation that he values the dollar more than he values his reputation within the community.

I tried to drop off my lawnmower for a repair, and I couldn't even get eye contact with the manager working there. (did not want to acknowledge my presence)
